How to add transformations to your properties?
Description:
In this section, you can edit your properties before you import them. You can choose a property and use either of the four “Rules” to make changes to it; which are:
a) Text Rule: Used to make changes to a word
b) Number Rule: Used to make changes to a number
c) Import Utility Rule: Used to solve conflicts faced while importing files from different distinct sources
d) Catalog Utility Library:Used to solve data transformation tasks, the Catalog Utility library performs a Fallback Values operation.
Transformation script editor supports the following views:
a) Code view: If you are adept with Python, this is where you write the script for data transformations
b) Tool view: This is where you can select a wide range of operations and automatically perform data transformations without writing any scripts. In this case, the Python scripts are automatically generated.
How to:
Click on “Add transformations“. If you want to prefix price with its respective currency, for example you want to change the price from “25” to “$25”, use the “prefix” option from the text rules and you’re good to go. Similarly, you can also replace or join words, add or subtract numbers from the values in your property list.
