Imports
Import is your first step towards integrating product information with Unbxd PIM. You can use the Manage Imports page to import your product information via the following file formats:
- .CSV
- .XLSX
- .JSON
- .XML
- .TSV
You can also import a . ZIP file with one of the specified formats.
1. Fetching the Import File
- Ensure that the import file is prepared and available in the required format.
- Choose the source of the import file:
- Local System: If the file is stored locally, access the import functionality in Unbxd PIM and browse for the file.
- SFTP Location: If the file is located in an SFTP server, provide the necessary credentials and specify the file path for retrieval.
2. Mapping Important PIM Attributes
Before proceeding with the import, it is crucial to map the important PIM attributes. These attributes include:
- Product Id: A unique identifier for each product. (mandatory)
- Product Name: The name or title of the product.
- Product Image: An image associated with the product.
- Parent Id: The identifier for the parent product in case of variations or product hierarchies.
- Category: The categorization of the product.
Mapping these attributes ensures that the imported data is correctly aligned with the corresponding PIM fields. The following steps explain how to map these attributes:
- Access the import mapping functionality in Unbxd PIM.
- Identify the corresponding fields in the import file for each of the important PIM attributes.
- Map each attribute by associating the relevant field from the import file with the respective PIM field.
- Save the attribute mappings in an import template configuration for future use.
3. Setting Attribute Configurations
After mapping the important attributes, additional attribute configurations can be set based on your specific requirements. These configurations can include additional fields, attribute values, or custom mappings. Follow these steps to configure the attributes:
- Review the available PIM attributes and identify any additional fields that require configuration.
- Map the corresponding fields from the import file to the desired PIM fields or attributes.
- Set attribute values or define custom mappings, if needed, to enhance the imported product data.
- Save the attribute configurations in the import template for future imports.
4. Saving Attribute Mapping and Configurations
To save time for subsequent imports, Unbxd PIM allows you to save the attribute mapping and configurations in an import template. This acts as a template for future imports, streamlining the process. Follow these steps to save the mappings and configurations:
- Access the import template management section in Unbxd PIM.
- Select the current attribute mapping and configurations.
- Save the selected mapping and configurations as an import template.
- Assign a suitable name to the template for easy reference and reuse in future imports.
5. Scheduling Imports
Once the initial import is complete, Unbxd PIM offers the option to schedule recurring imports. This automation feature allows you to execute imports automatically, regardless of the import frequency. Follow these steps to schedule imports:
- Access the import scheduling feature in Unbxd PIM.
- Specify the desired import frequency, such as daily, every 2 hours, or once a week.
- Configure additional settings, such as the time of day or specific days of the week for import execution.
- Save the import schedule to enable the automatic execution of subsequent imports.
Note: The lower limit for an import frequency is set to 15 minutes. That is, you can schedule an import every 15 minutes, but not lesser than 15 minutes.
If you have no file to import, you can start by creating product attribute. For more information, see Attributes. If you are still working on your import file or waiting for one, you can start with building your PIM team. For more information, see Organization Setup.
